Fieldwork Devices is an independent audio electronics company based in Santa Fe, New Mexico, designing devices for musicians, sound artists, sound designers, and adventurous creators.
As pioneers in hybrid audio design, we create devices that speak fluently between guitar peals, modular, and semi-modular synthesizers. Our designs seamlessly bridge these worlds, unlocking workflows few others have explored.
This rare hybrid workflow empowers you to create versatile and exploratory setups where sound becomes a field of open possibilities. Our devices are crafted for those who move between worlds; musicians and artists seeking connection, experimentation, and the transformative experience of shaping sound without boundaries.

Forest Graham
Founder, Designer & Builder
Forest Graham is the creative force behind Fieldwork Devices, founded in Santa Fe in 2022. Having grown up amid the high desert landscapes of northern New Mexico, he spent years immersed in Los Angeles’ vibrant creative scene before returning, drawn back by the terrain and community that continue to inspire his work.
An experimental musician and visual artist, Forest emerged from Oakland’s experimental music and art scenes in the late ’90s and early 2000s, where he developed his distinctive approach to sound. Performing under the moniker Forrest Lawn, he explores the outer edges of texture, noise, and sonic possibility; an ethos that deeply informs the design philosophy of Fieldwork Devices. Each device he designs is a reflection of his commitment to unlocking new creative workflows and bridging worlds for adventurous musicians and sound artists.
